Dr. Siddharth Verma, born on June 30, 1977, is a critical care specialist at Care n Cure Hospital, Bilaspur, where he owns a 100-bedded facility. Recognized for his outstanding work during the COVID-19 pandemic, he received a national award from the Indian Medical Association in 2022 and a state award for critical care medicine the same year. Coming from a family of doctors, Dr. Verma's wife, Dr. Prakrati Verma, and his parents, Dr. S.K. Verma and Dr. Sunita Verma, are all esteemed medical professionals. His children, Vihaan and Vriti, are currently in classes 11 and 9, respectively. Introduced to cycling three years ago by Dr. Ashish Jaiswal, Dr. Verma quickly advanced under the guidance of ultracyclist Dr. Amit Samarth, achieving milestones like completing 200 km brevets and securing second place in his age group in the 255 km SKOM race. Now, Dr. Verma is preparing for the Race Across India (RaIN), a major endurance challenge. Despite challenges like saddle soreness and limited training time due to his demanding profession, he is driven by a desire to inspire his children and prove that resilience and determination can overcome any obstacle.

Dr. Amit Samarth, a pioneering Indian cyclist, made history as the first Indian to complete the 5,000-kilometer Race Across America (RAAM) in its 37-year history. He is also the first Indian rookie and the only Asian to win the Trans-Siberian Extreme, a grueling 9,100- kilometer race, holding both a Guinness World Record and a World Ultra Cycling Association (WUCA) record for 6,000 kilometers. In 2023, he finished RAAM in just 11 days and recently completed the Race Around Poland self-supported. As the founder of the All India Race, he continues to uplift India's cycling community by organizing prestigious long- distance races.

Om Deepak Korhale, a 19-year-old student currently pursuing a degree in Information Technology, is a passionate and accomplished endurance athlete. Despite being a full-time student with no professional work profile, Om has already achieved significant milestones in his athletic journey. He successfully cycled from Pune to Kanyakumari, earning the title of "Mirror Man" along the way. Additionally, Om has completed several marathons and is a finisher of the Bergman Half Iron Man distance Triathlon, demonstrating his dedication and resilience in the field of endurance sports.

Deepak Raju Korhale, a 48-year-old former state-level short-distance runner, has built a career as a cycle shop owner and transporter. His athletic achievements are impressive, beginning with his success as a state-level 400m runner during his college days. He has since become a two-time Half Ironman finisher and completed the challenging Pune to Kanyakumari cycling route, covering 1680 km. Deepak has also finished the Tata Ultra Marathon in both the 35km and 50km categories, as well as the Satara Half Hill Marathon. Additionally, he has successfully completed 200km, 300km, and 400km Brevets de Randonneurs Mondiaux (BRM) events, showcasing his enduring passion for endurance sports.

Team JNARDDC

Team JNARDDC (Team of 4) The JNARDDC team, led by Dr. Anupam Agnihotri, Director, and comprising Mr. S K Thokal, Mr. G B Bhaskar, and Mr. Vipin Naik, is set to participate in the prestigious Race Across India, Asia's longest-ever cycle race, covering a distance of 3723 KMS from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. The race, scheduled to start on 10th October 2024,

1. Dr. Anupam Agnihotri, Director Dr. Agnihotri, at 58, has already proven his mettle by earning diamond and gold finisher titles in Tour-De-100, showcasing his dedication to cycling. Apart from cycling, he is an avid swimmer and badminton player who believes that health is the greatest wealth.

2. Vipin Naik • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, started cycling in 2019, covered over 16,030 km, Gold Finisher in Tour De 100 (2020).

3. Suhas Thokal Mr. Thokal, an electrical engineer, has demonstrated his cycling prowess by completing 100 kms and 200 kms BRM and covering an impressive 4689 kms in 100 days in 2021.

4. Govinda Bhaskar Mr. Bhaskar, an avid swimmer, has completed 200 kms cycling more than three times, showcasing his endurance.

1. Jayant Mendhi: Jayant Mendhi, 65, a retired SBI officer from Nagpur and member of the Tiger City Cycling Club, has an impressive cycling legacy. He competed in 13 National Cycle Polo Championships, winning the Best National Player Award three times. Since retirement in 2019, he has cycled over 30,000 km and successfully completed the Manali-Leh-Khardungla trek in 2021. Inspired by Dr. Amit Samarth, Jayant is set to participate in the 2024 Race Across India in a team of four, with fitness and camaraderie as his primary motivations.

2. Rupesh Meshram: Rupesh N. Meshram, born on 18/08/1982, is a Production Engineer at ANK Seals Pvt. Ltd., Nagpur, with a passion for cycling and cooking. An avid cyclist since 2020, he has completed Audax-affiliated BRM rides ranging from 200 km to 400 km (AIR - 26798). Beyond cycling, Rupesh is dedicated to giving back to the community, proudly donating blood two to three times a year since 2019.

3. Mukund Kamath: Mukund Vaman Kamath, 41, is a Senior Manager at Ank Seals Pvt. Ltd. and a resident of Nagpur for over four decades. Despite being a novice cyclist, having started in July 2023, he has successfully completed BRM rides of 200, 300, and 400 km. Though he had to withdraw from a 600 km BRM due to a mechanical issue after 580 km, his passion and determination for cycling remains strong.

4. Sweety Malik: An example of indomitable spirit and dedication… She holds an inspiring story from the roots of village of Dighal, Jhajjar district. Born on August 16, 1980, she graduated from Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak; pursued M.A. in Fine Arts from Gwalior, worked as a drawing teacher in DAV Police Public School, Sunaria Kalan, Rohtak. Despite of juggling household responsibilities and a full-time job, her achievements are remarkable… Marvelously competing against thousands of younger participants in the open race, Sweety, over the age of 35, secured first place in the 10-kilometre race Tittles earned: "Cycle Kilometre Machine," "Jhansi Ki Rani," and "Dhakad Chhori" through her passion for cycling; "Sportswoman of Haryana", the "Powerful Woman of Haryana" Achievements and Recognition: A gold medalist in the 100-kilometre national-level race held in the mountainous terrain of Bhakra Nangal Dam, Himachal Pradesh. Triumphed in races across Gurgaon, Delhi, Noida, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, Lahaul-Spiti, and Himachal Pradesh. Participated in the Haryana State Masters Athletics Championship at Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak, winner of shot put, 1500-metre race, and 400-metre hurdles Contributions to Society: Social activist, cycled for the causes like drug-free India, "Beti Bachao Beti Padhao" (Save the Girl Child, Educate the Girl Child), environmental protection, tree planting, water conservation, health awareness, and a polythene-free India. 1.Vishwas Chati: Vishwas A. Chati, born on November 8, 1960, is a retired banking professional with a B. Com degree. After a 37-year career with Bank of India, where he held various roles including Branch Manager, he retired voluntarily in 2018. A fitness enthusiast, Vishwas was once a badminton player, but due to a shoulder injury, he shifted focus to other pursuits. He completed the Saar-Pass Trek in 2019 and began cycling after retirement, covering over 25,000 km. He has successfully completed the MLK Cycle Trek (600 km) and multiple BRM rides, with a passion for long-distance challenges.

2. Prafulla Wankhade: Dr. Prafulla M. Wankhade, born on June 13, 1973, is a General Medical Practitioner in Amravati since 1998. After running his own Swastik Multispecialty Hospital for 7 years, he transitioned fully into general practice following a heart attack in 2016. A fitness enthusiast, Dr. Wankhade has excelled in multiple sports and embraced cycling as a passion after his recovery. He has completed several notable cycling expeditions, including the Manali-Leh- Khardungla route, and has logged over 48,000 km on Strava. He participates in regular challenges, balancing his love for fitness with his medical career.

He has travelled through America by bike, from the west to the east. Now he is set for India. He is an athlete after hours, an ultra cyclist to be exact. Ultracycling is a sports discipline that requires not only an extremely strong physical and mental condition, but also a sturdy character and a fortitude. A hundred, two, five hundred kilometres and more by bike at once - that’s ultra. In his sports career he's already completed all the ultramarathons in Poland. In 2022 he competed in the longest polish ultra race - Race Around Poland, which has acquired the status of World Championship. That’s 3600 km within the time limit of 12 days completed on the 2nd position. That achievement has allowed him to participate in the most ferocious of all the ultra races - Race Across America. Race Across America is a distance of 4884 km. A dozen of states to cross, in several time zones and various meteorological conditions, including a desert. Again, the time limit of 12 days. A total of 30 participants from the whole world, he included. He has successfully completed the race on the 8th spot out of 17. It took him 11 days and he was the third Pole in the history of the race. This June he took up a challenge to beat the polish record of the number of kilometres cycled within a month. He has successfully set the new record at 100048 km. He has already embarked on a new challenge - Race Across India. He will be the first European competing in that ultra race and he will do everything in his power to proudly represent Europe, Poland, Lubuskie voivodeship and his city Zielona Góra. He won’t let down the president of Zielona Góra, who assumed the honourable patronage over his participation in that race, alongside a whole set of companies and people, that support his sport endeavours. He got into athletics during his college days and participated in 5k and 10k races and even discus throw.His cycling journey started four years ago when he started commuting to his office daily on a bicycle. He was introduced to brevets and successfully completed the SR series to become a Super Randonneur. Deepak Amin, based in Mumbai's BKC, is a Finance and Technology Professional, and the owner of both a software services company and a financial services company. Despite having limited prior experience in endurance sports, Deepak successfully completed the Seattle to Portland ride over two days. Now, he is preparing for his first significant endurance challenge under the expert coaching of Dr. Amit Samarth and with guidance from Anirudh Pandya. Deepak's training and learning regimen is comprehensive and focused. He is delving into biochemistry and biophysics to better understand the body's energy systems and muscle functions. His training also includes mastering heart rate zones (Zone 1, Zone 2, Zone 3) to optimize his endurance. A key part of his preparation is enhancing mitochondrial activation and mitobiogenesis, which are crucial for cellular energy production and endurance capacity. Additionally, Deepak is focusing on angiogenesis, the formation of new blood vessels, to improve oxygen delivery to his muscles. Nutrition plays a vital role in his training, and Deepak is carefully balancing his intake of fats, proteins, and carbohydrates to ensure sustained energy levels. He is also learning about cycle mechanics and pacing strategies to optimize his performance during the challenge. Deepak is highly motivated and excited about this journey. He deeply values the extensive learning process and the intensity of the training, which are essential components of his preparation for this endurance challenge.
